Thelma Hunt, 74. of Fayston, VT, formerly of Rumford, RI, passed away
Thursday, October 28, 2010, at Fletcher Allen Hospital with her
daughter Brenda and son-in-law Todd by her side.
Thelma was born in Westport, MA, on August 2, 1936, the daughter of the
late Elmyra Carr and the late Ralph Macomber, and was the wife of the
late Robert Hunt. She worked tirelessly her whole life to support her
family and to assist with others as a seamstress at Health-Tex Clothing,
assembler at Automatic Chain, server at Dunkin Donuts, and then after
retiring, a Senior Companion at Home Instead and a foster grandparent in
the Rhode Island elementary school system.
Her strength and determination shined on after her stroke in 2006; she
was an inspiration. Thelma touched the lives of many with her smile,
care and concern for others. She loved the ocean, feeling her happiest
when there.
Thelma leaves behind her daughter Brenda, son-in-law Todd, brother
Ralph, sister-in-law Marion, several nieces and nephews, along with many
friends whose hearts she touched.
A memorial service will be held at a future date in Rhode Island. In
remembrance of Thelma, donations may be made to Save the Manatee or Paws
for Friendship, Inc.
