Shirley A. Fuller passed away peacefully with loving family at her side on March 3, 2007, at the Pendleton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Mystic, CT. Born November 13, 1905, she lived a full and rich life in her 101 years.

Born in Fayston, Vermont, Shirley Livingston Fuller was the daughter of Robert and Mame Livingston. She was raised on the farm at Tucker Hill with her eight siblings and attended Waitsfield High School.

Upon advice of Grandmother Lizzanne Livingston, Shirley enrolled in nursing school and completed her training at the Rockingham Hospital in Bellows Falls, Vermont. She became a registered nurse and worked at the Ludlow Hospital and Wesson Memorial Hospital in Springfield, MA, from where she retired in 1969.

Shirley was married to her beloved husband, William Fuller, who passed away in 1980, shortly before their 50th anniversary. She is survived by daughter Beverly and son-in-law Eugene Ravenelle of Pawcatuck, CT; brother Stanley Livingston of Keene, NH; three grandchildren, granddaughter Karen Ravenelle-Bloom and husband Bob of Willington, CT, granddaughter Debra Ravenelle and Rob Maynard of Johnson, VT, and grandson Danny Ravenelle and wife Linda of Hope Valley, RI; great-granddaughter Victoria Ravenelle of Hope Valley, RI; special niece Anna Nicholas of Bradford, RI; and many extended nieces, nephews and friends.

Shirley was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Fuller, and also an infant daughter, as well as brother's Melvin, Sterling, Otto, Julius, Arnold, and Carlyle, sister Gertrude and special nephew David Ralph.

Her passions in life included family and friends, walks on the beach, rug braiding, refinishing furniture, many types of crafts, "sugar-on-snow" parties, and many return trips to Vermont. She had a true spark for life and laughter and was a great source of inspiration and wisdom for all those she knew.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Pendleton Healthcare Center for their tender loving care of Shirley for the past five and a half years and for all their support to the family.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, March 10, 2007, at 1 p.m. in the United Congregational Church, Pawcatuck, CT. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to United Congregational Church, 9 Castle Hill Road, Pawcatuck, CT 06379, or a charity of your choice.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home, Westerly, RI.
