Tex William Morehouse, 59, of Waterbury Center, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, February 9, 2007. Born in Montpelier on August 10, 1947, he was the son of the late William and Rose (Demo) Morehouse.
Tex attended schools in Waterbury, Middlesex, and Georgia and was a 1967 graduate of Bellows Free Academy in St. Albans. He served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Air Force, being discharged on December 10, 1973.
Tex was employed by the State of Vermont in the Industrial Homework Office for several years before going to work for Digital in Burlington as a technician until they closed the operation. Tex has since worked for Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in Waterbury as a machine and forklift operator. His memberships included the American Automobile Association. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing and working around his home.
He is survived by a daughter, Kristal L. Morehouse of Waterbury; two sons, Billy Morehouse of Duxbury and Donald Knight of Berwick, ME; four grandsons and two granddaughters; a brother, Warren Morehouse and his wife, Sharon, of Odessa, TX; as well as a niece and nephew.
A service of remembrance will be held from the Waterbury American Legion, 16 Stowe Street, Waterbury on Saturday, February 17, at 11 a.m. with a luncheon to immediately follow. Later inurnment will take place with military honors in the Irasville Cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted; rather memorial gifts would be appreciated to Central Vermont Home Health and Hospice, 600 Granger Road, Barre, VT 05641.
