Peter was born and raised in the Mad River Valley – Waitsfield and Moretown, Vermont. He was also educated in Vermont, attending Montpelier High School, Castleton State and Champlain Colleges. The majority of his adult, working life was spent in hotel management in Woodstock, Sugarbush and Stowe resorts. Upon retirement, he had moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he died.
