The last time you denied them a permit I watched as they built a new facility in South Burlington, taking with them thousands of dollars that heretofore had been spent locally by hundreds of Apple customers who would bring their computers to Small Dog and would spend the day shopping in our stores and eating in our local restaurants while waiting for their repairs and purchases.
The Chittenden County crowd no longer has reason to come to Waitsfield so they come less. This has been frustrating and now we're facing a similar situation once again. Small Dog has consistently been one of the best opportunities in this town and it is hard to understand why you deny them permits over and over again. So change the zoning there; do you think the cows would mind? It is increasingly difficult to do business in this town and I would hope that our select board and development review board would try to help this situation rather than continually hinder it!
Please grant them this permit and I would go further to say let them open on Sundays! Let's allow Waitsfield to be a viable destination for day-trippers and tourists alike. The wedding industry isn't the only important thing in town!
