If you agree that allowing Small Dog Electronics to be open on July 13 won't have a "deleterious" impact on the agricultural/residential aspect of the area, please write a letter of support to the Waitsfield Development Review Board or attend the DRB meeting on June 24.
The weekend of July 12 and 13 has been declared tax free for all purchases under $2,000. A later tax-free weekend is being held for Energy Star appliance purchases only. This is part of the economic stimulus package passed this year by Governor Douglas. In order to take part, Small Dog has to go before the DRB to ask to be open on July 13 because our conditional use permit precludes us from opening on Sundays.
The DRB has the power to allow this, but it is going to take a show of support. For the most part we are fine with not working on Sundays but would like to be allowed to take part in the tax-free weekends. They do not happen every year; in fact there hasn't been one for several years.
