To The Editor:
Just thinking – it’s that time of year again for Town Meeting Day and the day to vote. Waitsfield has 1,220 registered voters and only about 450 actually vote (35 percent!). Folks, it doesn’t hurt, doesn’t cost anything and doesn’t take much time. Town Meeting is at 5 p.m., March 1, so there will be ample parking all day to stop in to vote. There are five residents seeking votes for the select board. I endorse Darryl Forrest for a three-year term and Jerome Keating for a two-year term. Both are very capable and certainly have my vote. Oh, and finally, what if we had 1,220 immigrants living in town from countries where they were never allowed to vote? Bet they would jump at the chance!
