To The Editor:

After the two-hour meeting in Warren to discuss the issues related to the dam, it became evident that the issue is very complex and there are many concerns and many ways to look at the river.

Photos show the river without the dam and others show the dam and the bridge. These are linked in many ways. I came away from the meeting with the sense that the whole river between the two bridges at either end of town should be looked at with a whole systems approach.

The historic fabric that includes the bridge, the dam (the hydro basis for the town’s very existence), the fish, the gravel, the recreation and those who live with and on the river all have voices that need to be heard and considered. Only then can a long-term configuration for these assets be determined.
