To The Editor:

In response to Kevin and Paige LaVanway's letter to the editor last week, we would like to let everybody know that there was never a time we denied access to our property when their road was compromised. The select board chair asked if residents could use our road through the campground during the reconstruction of the culvert on Wilder Road. We agreed and it became a matter of public record.

Of course, we would never deny use of this road under the circumstances. Most of the residents used this access, as well as fuel trucks and trash removal trucks. The access was never denied. Those who chose to use it did; those who didn't want to use it didn't, for whatever reason. If the LaVanways have decided to close their land to VAST, it is not because of us.
