To The Editor:
To the people of Waitsfield:
I owe you all an explanation. At last Monday's select board meeting I was involved in an argument with a fellow select board member concerning one of our agenda items. This confrontation was extensive and combative. It was also unnecessary and contrary to the conduct you have a legitimate right to expect from your public officials. Debate, regardless of strong, conflicting views, should always be respectful and thoughtful. For my part I fell short of that standard.
I apologize for my involvement in this unfortunate event and will make every effort to avoid such conduct in the future.
