Sugarbush Resort Golf Club has hired Roger King as new PGA head golf pro for the 2016 golf season.
King arrives at Sugarbush from Barre Country Club, where he served as general manager for 14 years. Prior to that, King worked at a number of golf clubs in various capacities including Kernwood Country Club, Bass Rocks Golf Club and PGA National Golf Club. King is the current president of Vermont PGA, serving in his first year of a two-year term. Additional honors include 2012 VTPGA Professional of the Year, VTPGA tournament committee chair (2011-2015) and 2012 VTPGA Match Play Champion.
King’s teaching philosophy centers around his ability to connect with people and assess their individual learning style. “I believe in the 3-E philosophy: enhance experience everyday,” said King. “This only comes from member contact and by getting to know each member personally so I can anticipate their needs and wants. I’m very excited to be joining the Sugarbush family and getting to know its members and guests.”
King will be on-resort from May through November, available for lessons and clinics. He will also oversee tournaments and events at the golf club.
Sugarbush Resort Golf Club is currently offering the Holiday Fore Pack, on sale now through December 31. Valid for the 2016 summer season with no blackouts, the Fore Pack includes four rounds of golf. Season passes and memberships are also available for purchase on sugarbush.com.
