Brian German, born May 16, 1975, of Warren, VT, passed away on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, surrounded by family and friends.
Above all Brian's greatest love and passion was his wife and children. An early love of music led his travels across the country at a young age. It was during that time that he made deep connections with many friends and created an extended family. As an adult Brian had his roots here and always called Vermont home. In 2001, Brian met his wife Mollie through a mutual friend and their journey began.
He took great pride working on the family's Warren home, always with a project under way, most recently the addition of a beautiful deck. In addition to being a talented carpenter, Brian was a licensed electrician/journeyman. Upon the arrival of children, Brian followed his dream to become an electrician. He managed family, an addition to the family home and going to school for four years until he received his journeyman's license. Since then he has most recently worked with Cummings Electric in South Burlington for three years. Brian took great pride in his work and was known to spend weekends helping friends and neighbors with various electrical projects, always with a smile.
Brian's smile was infectious and often left even strangers feeling as if they had just received the biggest hug. Music was always a fundamental piece of Brian's heart and soul. Brian also enjoyed snowboarding, playing guitar, watching his favorite Baltimore teams play ball, traveling with the family and the quiet beauty of fishing Vermont's rivers and lakes. His dedication as a husband and father was inspirational, and he always made sure his family knew how much he loved them.
He will be remembered forever as a gentle, kind man with a thoughtful and loving soul.
Brian is survived by his wife, Mollie; his children, Dylan and Sadie; his father and stepmother, Don and Maureen German; his mother, Jennifer Becker; his sister, Donnelle Gaston; his two stepsisters, Heather and Sommer Cook; his brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Chloe Peterson; as well as three nephews, Simon and Oliver Peterson and Forrest Gaston, and one niece, Melissa Gaston.
A memorial will be held to honor Brian on Friday, March 21, 2014, at 6:30 p.m. at the Gate House Lodge at Sugarbush.
