Helen Barbara (nee Bruder) Welter, 88, of Allendale, New Jersey, passed away on October 16, 2013, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of John F. Welter. Beloved mother of Thomas, John, Catherine, Mary, Joseph, Robert, Helen, Elizabeth and Andrew. Adored grandmother of 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Helen loved caring for her nine children and working in her gardens as well as hosting family dinners and celebrations. She adored spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and her entire extended family. Friends will also remember her talent at painting, wallpapering and home decorating.
She visited The Valley often and loved its beauty, the warm and friendly people and most of all her family here, sons Tom, John and wife Ro, Bob and wife Valerie, grandchildren Bethany and husband Chris, Caitlin and fiancé Scott, and Eamon. She will be missed greatly by those who met her and are blessed to have had her cross their paths.
Visitation was held on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Van Emburgh-Sneider-Pernice Funeral Home, 109 Darlington Avenue, Ramsey, NJ.
A funeral mass was celebrated at Guardian Angel R. C. Church in Allendale on October 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. with Reverend Charles Pinyan presiding.
Interment followed at Maryrest Cemetery in Mahwah, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
