Nancy Mae Detro was born on February 23, 1924, in Rochester, NY, to Guy Hershey and Elsie (Winagle) Detro. Nancy grew up in Fairport, New York, and married George Harold Wagner of that town in 1947. They moved to Ridgewood, NJ, and together they had four children, Ruth Ellen, Ronald Earl, Douglas Robert and Janet Louise. After their divorce in 1967, Nancy became a resident of Vermont, living and working in Waitsfield, Warren and Waterbury. Nancy's professional career included working at the Moravian Seminary and College for Women, for the Hon. Andrew Maguire in Washington, DC, and for law firms in Ridgewood, New Jersey, and in Vermont. Nancy was a longtime member of Hunger Mountain Christian Assembly in Waterbury, VT, and previously was active at Emmanuel Baptist Church in NJ and the First Baptist Church of Fairport, NY.

Nancy leaves many friends, especially her Soul Sisters and members of HMCA, who will miss her sparkling wit, sense of adventure and young spirit. She is survived by her children, Ruth (Doug) Reiner, Ron (Pat) Wagner, Doug Wagner (Susan Schmit) and Janet (Wallace) Sharp. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Jennifer (Troy) Fitzpatrick, and two great-grandsons, Kyan and Collin Fitzpatrick.
