Arlene Naginsky was a truly beloved member of our community. It is with great sadness that we have had to say goodbye to her. She touched so many of our lives with her kindness, acceptance and generosity, welcoming us into a variety of activities.
Some of us enjoyed her company at bridge, others exercising in the SHaRC pool at water aerobics. Her cooking and baking were legendary at Garden Club luncheons, the Jewish Community Sabbath dinners, the fundraiser for the new Warren Library or at the Valley Players Theater. Arlene also loved to entertain her friends with delicious meals in her home. She was always instrumental in bringing people together.
Arlene was often the first to volunteer, which encouraged the rest of us to join in. She may have been small of stature, but she was large of energy and heart.
Some of us will remember sewing opera costumes with her or knitting with her at a library group or at SHaRC. While she was still in good health, Arlene enjoyed skiing, tennis, golf and bridge.
Any of us who spent time with her got to know her children and grandchildren through the stories she would tell us. She was so proud of them all.
In gratitude for our having had the opportunity of knowing Arlene, some of us have made contributions to help with ovarian cancer research. Others have made contributions to the Mad River Valley Interfaith Council Fund, which supports our Food Shelf and other activities for local families. Those donations can be mailed to P.O. Arlene, we have been truly blessed to have been your friends and we will miss you dearly.
