Pamela B. Irish, 62, of Moretown, passed away in the comfort of her family at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington on Sunday, October 9, 2011. Born in Montpelier on June 11, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Eva (Wilkins) Bowman. On June 8, 1968, she married Stewart A. Irish in Montpelier. Stewart passed away on January 13, 2011.
Pam attended schools in Montpelier and following her marriage was happy and busy as a homemaker and raising her family. In 1989, when Stewart opened his auto repair business, S&P Performance, Pam played an integral role in its operation and success.
Her memberships included the Waterbury American Legion Auxiliary Unit 59 and she was named State Auxiliary Volunteer of the Year in 2006. In her leisure time, she enjoyed sewing, snowmobiling, fishing and bowling.
Pam is survived by her children, Kimberly Dexter and her husband Perley of Williamstown, Lori Armell and her husband Brian of Monkton, Donna Atkins of Moretown, and Scott Irish of Barre; 10 grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Bowman of Alburg; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family.
Memorial services will be held from the Waterbury American Legion, 16 Stowe Street, Waterbury, on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 11 a.m. with a reception to follow. The family requests that instead of flowers, memorial gifts be made to the Waterbury Food Shelf, 57 South Main Street, Waterbury, VT 05676.
