Mary Katherine Lescoe, 56, of Waterford, CT, died Sunday, August 28, 2011, at John Dempsey Hospital with her family at her bedside after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born February 10, 1955, in Hartford, daughter of Christine (Driscoll)
Lescoe of Simsbury and the late Dr. Roger Lescoe. She lived in Quebec, Vermont
and Hamden prior to moving to Waterford six years ago.
Mary Kay was a graduate of the Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in
Massachusetts and received her bachelor's degree from the University of
Vermont. She was a research analyst for Pfizer Corporation for six years. Mary
Kay had a passion for gourmet cooking and a gift for planting and growing
flowers. She enjoyed travelling and being with friends in Vermont, Canada and
Rhode Island. She will be greatly missed by lifelong friends and family.
M. K. started making friends in The
Valley while working at The Sugarbush Inn in the late 1970s, and then on to The
Great American Eagle and Beggar's Banquet.
M. K. had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. She was always excited to come back to Vermont to spend time with friends. She enjoyed hiking, skiing and going to the Farmers’ Market to plan a great meal to share with friends. She always enjoyed good times and special occasions. And boy did she love to dance. For the past 12 years she has had the pride and joy of being godmother to Molly Bell of Lakeville, CT. Molly and "Mickey" were quite a team. This brought another level of caring and giving to M. K.'s life. Now that her suffering is over we are left to our wonderful memories of a great lady. She was loved and will always be missed by her friends.
Besides her mother, she is survived by her three brothers, David Lescoe of New
York, NY, James Lescoe of Raleigh, NC, and Robert Lescoe and his wife Elizabeth
of East Hampton.
