Janice H. Pring, 64, of Warren, VT, and Taunton, MA, died Friday, August 26, 2011, at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph, VT.
She was born September 11, 1946, in Taunton, MA, the daughter of William L. and Rita (Weygand) Holt.
Janice attended Taunton schools and graduated from Taunton High School in 1964. She continued her education graduating with honors from Wheaton College in Norton, MA, in 1968. She was married to William E. Pring on July 27, 1968, in Barnstable, MA. Janice was a seventh- and eighth-grade math teacher at the James L. Mulcahy School in Taunton for 10 years. Since 1971, she has been co-owner and manager of Pring Plumbing & Heating in Taunton, MA, and Warren, VT.
Janice was a lifelong resident of Taunton, MA. The Prings have also maintained a residence in Warren, VT, since 1986. Janice enjoyed raising and showing Morgan horses. She also enjoyed kayaking, snowshoeing, outdoor sports and playing bridge. She was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Barnstable, MA, and was a recipient of Rotary International’s Paul Harris Fellow Award.
She is survived by her husband William Pring of Taunton, MA, and Warren, VT, her father William Holt of Taunton and Dennis, MA, a brother Dr. Richard Holt and wife Ann of Bethesda, MD, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother.
A time of remembrance and celebration of Janice’s life will be held Thursday, September 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Skinner Barn, 609 Common Road, Waitsfield, VT. This is a potluck supper; please bring a dish to share.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 24, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Barnstable, MA. There are no calling hours. Private burial will be in the Dennis Village Cemetery.
