Ashley Sahlman died unexpectedly on Sunday, November 14, 2010.

He was born on August 2, 1977, in Fairfax, Virginia, to Bob Sahlman of Warren and Jill Sahlman of Montpelier.

He attended Montpelier Elementary, Middle and High Schools. He loved baseball and was active in Little League and Babe Ruth throughout his childhood.

He played football for Montpelier High School and was a member of the 1991 team that won the state championships. He was a graduate of Renton Technical College in Seattle, Washington, with multiple certifications in structural welding.

At the time of his death he was working in property management in Manchester, New Hampshire.

Ashley is survived by his mother and his father as well as his brother Josh of Daytona Beach, Florida; his uncles, Frank Sahlman of Squaw Valley, California, and Bill Sahlman of Lebanon, New Hampshire; his aunts, Jean Seline of Washington, DC, and Donna McKellitt, Island Frit, South Carolina;and many cousins and friends, all of whom will miss his kind heart, his sense of humor and his uncensored political opinions.

A memorial service will be held at the Warren United Church in Warren on Tuesday, November 23, at 3 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held following the service at the home of Bob Sahlman at 2371 West Hill Road in Warren.
