Hunter George Wright, 18, of Meadow Crest Lane, Waterbury, passed
away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 24, 2010. Born on January 26, 1992,
in Kingston, NY, he was the son of G. Byron and Mary Jane (Burt)
Wright.
Hunter was a senior at Harwood Union High School in Duxbury where he
completed his course work in January and was graduating this June.
Fondly remembered as a loyal friend, colleague and much-loved son and
brother, Hunter has left an indelible imprint on many lives.
For the past two and a half years Hunter has worked in the kitchen at
Tanglewood's Restaurant in Waterbury and had been accepted for future
admission to the New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier.
Throughout his school years Hunter enjoyed a variety of interests that
included snowboarding at Mt. Ellen, skateboarding, fishing, cruising the
back roads in his Subaru WRX and hanging out with his friends. He also
enjoyed sketching and drawing as well as creative writing.
Hunter is survived by his parents, Byron and Mary Jane Wright of
Waterbury; his brother, Parker Wright of Waterbury; his paternal
grandfather and his wife, George E. and Helen Wright of Stowe; as well
as aunts, uncles and cousins. His paternal grandmother, Carol A. Wright,
and his maternal grandparents, Ralph G. and Elaine A. Burt, predeceased
him.
A celebration of Hunter's life will be held from the auditorium at
Harwood Union High School in Duxbury on Monday, May 3, at 3:30 p.m. The
family has requested that flowers be omitted; rather memorial gifts
would be appreciated to the Hunter G. Wright Memorial Scholarship for
Creative Writing, Harwood Union High School Business Office, 458 Vermont
