William Paul Heinzerling, Fayston, died unexpectedly at his home on
April 22, 2010. He was born in Bloomfield, New Jersey, on December 27,
1934. He went to Lehigh University where he studied geology. He was
married to Susie Bender of Caldwell, New Jersey, and later to Ann Day of
Fayston, VT.
He worked for many years in the highway department for Essex County, New
Jersey, before moving to Vermont where he worked at Mad River Glen as
assistant manager. He was also on the Mad River Glen ski patrol. Bill
was an avid canoeist and animal lover with keen enthusiasm for all kinds
of sports. He was an active member of the Mad River Path Association
and other local groups.
He is survived by his brother Edward Heinzerling of Syracuse, New York,
and his nieces Holly Heinzerling of Rochester, NY, and Heidi Heinzerling
of Syracuse, as well as numerous cousins. Information will be
forthcoming on a memorial service.
