Charles E. Drury, 64, of North Main Street, Waterbury, passed away
April 15, 2010, at the Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin
following several years of declining health. Born in Bridgeport, CT, on
May 10, 1945, he was the son of the late Eugene H. and Helen (Travis)
Drury. Charles was previously married to the former Paulette
Uszakiewicz.
Charles was a graduate of Milford (CT) High School and then served with
the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. Following his discharge, he began
his own sheetrock/drywall business and in 1973 moved to Hancock, VT.
Continuing his business, Charles worked extensively for the developing
Killington Resort. Following his retirement, he traveled for several
years and for the past eight years has made his home in Waterbury.
A man of strong faith and dedication to family, Charles especially
enjoyed his grandchildren. In his leisure time he liked camping,
fishing, and meeting new people who invariably became good friends.
Charles is survived by his children, Michelle DiMario and her husband
Marc of Fayston, Kelly Drury of Middlesex, and Charlee Drury of
Waterbury; nine grandchildren; as well as eight brothers and sisters.
Coming from a family of 18 children, Charles is predeceased by nine
brothers and sisters.
