Norma attended schools in Bennington and as a young woman was involved in the Civil Air Patrol. Following her marriage, she made her home in Moretown where she enjoyed being a homemaker and raising her family. She was a member of the Moretown United Methodist Church and enjoyed the companionship of her feline friends.
Norma is survived by her son, Mark Kenneth Austin, and his wife, Pat, of Moretown; 4 grandchildren, Mark Austin II, David Austin, Ronald Austin and Amanda Austin; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Rose Austin of Moretown, Edna Prouty and Ruth Horn, both of Bennington; as well as nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by a granddaughter, Melissa Austin; two sisters, Louise Berbig and Helen Garvie; and three brothers, Don Woodard, Paul Woodard and Del Woodard.
Graveside inurnment services will be held from the Mountain View Cemetery in Moretown later this spring.
