Theresa F. LaVanway, 68, of Duxbury, passed away at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington in the comfort of her family on Saturday, January 13, 2007. Born in Northfield on November 25, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Eleanor (Ryan) Blair. On April 27, 1957, she married Kenneth R. LaVanway in Waterbury.
Theresa attended schools in Worcester, Montpelier and Waterbury. As a young woman, she worked in her father's taxi business in Waterbury. She later was employed at the former Pilgrim Plywood in Waterbury, Jewett's General Store in Moretown, and for the past 28 years, she was a telephone operator for the Vermont State Hospital in Waterbury. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching her son's stock car races, lawn sales and jigsaw puzzles.
Theresa is survived by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth R. LaVanway of Duxbury; their two sons, Donald K. LaVanway and his fiancée, Danielle Cubit, of Bolton, and Henry L. LaVanway of Duxbury; two grandchildren, Amber Cleveland of Winooski and Dustin Mable of Montpelier; a brother, Edward Blair and his wife, Joan, of Braintree; as well as extended family and her Yorkshire Terrier, "Holly-Sue."
