Elizabeth (Betty) Snider passed away on September 20, 2019, in Wayne, NJ. She was 91 years old. Betty was born and raised in Clifton, NJ. In her 20s, Betty wanted to learn how to ski and joined the North Jersey Whiz Skiers, a club whose members drove up from New Jersey almost every weekend to ski Mad River Glen. Betty met her husband, Alan Snider, in the club and together they raised five children on skis at Mad River Glen. Betty lived in Fayston with her daughter, Susan, for several years in her later years. She was a regular at Evergreen Place for lunches and bingo.
A homemaker, Betty's family was central to her life and her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her steady strength during hardship and good times were the bedrock of the family. Hers was a life well lived.
She is survived by Susan Snider of Fayston; Ronald Snider of Pompton Lakes, NJ; Wendy Weidmann of Pompton Plains, NJ, and her husband, Steve, and three grandchildren, Kelsey, Kate and Camryn; and Jean Gerisch and her husband, Greg, of Youngsville, NC.
