Donnalee Hendee Wynn of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, died unexpectedly on September 3, 2016, in Boston, Massachusetts, while vacationing with her sisters. Donnalee was born in Augusta, Georgia, in 1944. She was preceded in death by her parents, Parks and Harriet Hendee; her brother, Harwell Hendee; and her sons, Donald Scarborough, John Wynn, Ronald Miller and Boyd Reed. Donnalee is survived by her sons, David Wynn and Russell Wynn; granddaughters, Chavella Aragon and Megan Wynn; great-granddaughters, Selena Ramirez and Madison Brooke Beam; nephews, Derrick and Aaron Umansky; and her niece, Neely Umansky.
Donnalee was an innkeeper in Warren, Vermont, for many years before retiring to New Smyrna Beach. Donnalee's passion was Rotary International and she dedicated her life to the principles of the Rotarian four-way test. She was a past president of the New Smyrna Beach Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow. Donnalee was a member of the Smyrna Yacht Club, the NSB Dance Club and the NSB Nautilus by the Sea. Donnalee will be remembered for her energy, compassion and dedication to family and friends.
There will be two memorial services for Donnalee. The first was held at St. Peter the Fisherman Episcopal Church in New Smyrna Beach on Monday, September 12, at 3 p.m. with a reception following at the church. The second memorial service will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pennington, New Jersey, on Saturday, September 17, at 11 a.m., with a reception to follow at Wildflowers Inn.
