The Kingsbury Farm gave Warren an easement and has given MRPA access for the path to cross their land. Path users should be respectful of the crops by staying on the mowed pathway, not walking through the working farm fields, and keeping all dogs leashed.

There is also another new section to enjoy this Fourth of July weekend. With the help of volunteers from the Green Mountain Valley School, MRPA board members built the Austin Walk almost in one day. It took 71 volunteer hours to build the trail that starts at the Lareau Swim Hole parking lot, passes by a small wetland area, and heads north to the confluence of the Mad River and Mill Brook.

The Austin Walk is named for the Austin Family who donated the land to the town of Waitsfield. The Path is a spur to the main Mad River Path and is provides a walk through a floodplain forest and old pasture.
