To The Editor:
This letter is addressed to community members.
Mad River Valley Ambulance Service (MRVAS) was started in 1970 as a volunteer community service. Over the past 43 years we have responded to literally thousands of calls, saving lives and easing pain and suffering. There have been ups and downs and with each challenge we have become a stronger organization, in great part due to the incredible support we have gotten from the community.
We are now facing perhaps one of our most serious challenges to date. Over the past few years our volunteer base has shrunk while the number of calls we respond to has grown significantly. We are critically in need of new members to keep MRVAS able to provide emergency care to The Valley. In particular we are in immediate need of people who can be trained to provide medical care and others who can drive the ambulance.
Please consider whether you could be one of those who can keep our service strong and viable. We can provide the training if you can provide the interest and time. As we get ready to move into our busy season, we absolutely need to get new members on board if we are to continue as a volunteer squad.
You can go online to www.mrvas.org for info on becoming a member or call (802) 496-8888 for more info.
Thank you all for your support of the ambulance service.
