On August 28, the Irene-swollen Mad River left a swath of destruction similar to scores of others throughout the state. We witnessed an immediate outpouring of help to victims by both neighbors and strangers: shoveling muck out of living rooms; lending backhoe service; and getting hot food to those in need.
Can’t we, as a nation, think critically and then help others and ourselves by demanding that our representatives in Congress vote in favor of President Obama’s Jobs Bill? Do it immediately! No shenanigans.
