A great number of Social Security recipients are the most vulnerable
among us -- the elderly who live on it alone, disabled persons, single
mothers raising young children, etc.
They have also insisted on reducing the estate tax -- which they
eventually want to eliminate -- so the wealthiest Americans can pass all
their money to their heirs. This is very likely to result in the end of
major contributions from these very wealthy people to charities, the
arts and other community projects that have all depended on their
generosity and their choice to use their wealth for the benefit of
worthy causes in lieu of having the IRS take it upon their demise.
Where is the logic? Help me figure it out.
