If you are serious about energy independence and walking your talk
please let all the town regulators including the select board, planning
commission and development review board know they should welcome
responsible development such as the current proposals for photovoltaics
and a wind farm on the Northfield Ridge and do whatever the town can to
make it easy for them. Wow -- The Valley carbon negative!
If we want to get off fossil fuels and nuclear power we should share the
impact and if that is visual so be it. Closing down Vermont Yankee
before it has a more serious problem makes complete sense. Personally, I
would love to see wind turbines cranking out the juice and knowing
where my electricity comes from. Imagine if the current oil spill in the
Gulf were a nuclear accident.
