We need a national health system in the United States that covers
everyone and we need a public option -- not just mercenary, predator
private insurance companies. Cooperatives would be OK as an addition.
Incorporate both the public option and cooperatives and let them both
offer options to the private sector and compete vigorously.
The public option is absolutely mandatory. If we do not get it, the
Congressional and Senate Democratic majorities will disappear. Who
needs these guys -- and you -- if you and they cannot produce? A weak,
ostensibly Democratic government is worse than the Republicans -- at
least with the Republicans we know whom to blame and hate.
I am a lifelong Democrat but you and Congress need to produce to show yourselves as worthy of our support.
