My only purpose in doing this petition was to elevate the awareness and
discussion about creative options and what local residents might want
concerning zoning for existing successful and potential future
businesses. From that perspective the endeavor was successful. Many
people from Warren and Fayston said they were interested in this
subject too since they consider Waitsfield their commercial center.
Please discuss any and all ideas about this topic with your friends and
neighbors. Feel free to write or call me or any other member of the
Waitsfield Planning Commission with your thoughts.
Concerning rumors: There is a rumor going around that I am running for
a Waitsfield Select Board seat. I have no idea how this got started,
but I am not nor have at any time ever for even one second considered
running for the board. I have tremendous respect for the select board
members and the prodigious amount of volunteer work they give to the
town. The best way for people to support the select board is to
participate in the myriad forums, discussions, keep up with their
activities on the town website or bring your concerns to the open
public forum the first five minutes of every meeting. Get involved.
Stay involved. It's your town.
