We are especially appreciative that Sugarbush has stepped up to convey the first permanent trail easement to the MRPA and we thank them for their foresight and dedication to this community. But, the process of negotiating and ironing out the details of this trail easement are not complete, as the article suggested. The MRPA looks forward to finalizing this trail easement with Sugarbush in the near future, as well as easements with other landowners along the Path who have expressed an interest in permanently protecting this vital trail corridor.
MRPA is committed to working with all of the landowners along the proposed Mad River Path route to arrive at a mutually agreeable solution that enables the completion of the Path. Opportunities include a broad spectrum of tools from simple written permission to easements recorded in the land records to the purchase of land to allow passage of the Path. All options are on the table!
