And what about those products being dumped down our drains and our roads? Last summer, as I was heading north on Route 100, I was shocked to see an individual dumping plenty of RoundUp around his mailbox -- yipes! -- well that problem solved.
Now Green Mountain Power is ready to start using the newest in growth killers. I have not heard about GMP having a "green audit" done on the manual method now used. For example, are bio-chain oils being used in the cutting tools? Or is this really about profits and job cuts?
The Valley will be having a special guest visiting soon -- "Mr. Compost." Carl Hammer of Vermont Compost Company will be speaking Friday, March 21, at 7 p.m., at the East Warren Schoolhouse. For those who know Carl, compost will not be the only subject he'll touch upon. Let local garden center and hardware shop owners know this is an event not to miss.
