I have no connection to Rootswork, but I do know some Rootswork board members, have served on other boards with them and have great respect for their opinions and judgment.

I believe that the Rootswork board did not arrive at their decision to evict The Schoolhouse Market easily or capriciously; the negotiations have been ongoing since last November. The purpose of a board is to have a group of people with different viewpoints who can talk through ideas, various pros and cons, and come to a well thought-out and responsible decision.

If you look at the Rootswork board members, you will see a wide cross-section of people, all of whom live here and are volunteering their time to serve on this board. I respect their process and their decision; ultimately Rootswork is the caretaker of the building with the responsibilities that come with that role.

I am sorry that this chapter of The Schoolhouse Market is ending on such a difficult note but, as with some relationships, it seems to me there are irreconcilable differences and that divorce is the best solution. I wish the Faillaces, Bruce Fowler and Rootswork the best as they each move on.
