We now know the Mad River Valley Health Clinic will be closing its doors in the spring. This change leaves a significant gap in accessible health care for our area, and as your all-volunteer ambulance service, we want to assure you the Mad River Valley Ambulance Service is here for you in emergencies.

Call Us

While we cannot replace the care provided by the clinic, MRVAS is available 24/7 for urgent health emergencies. If you or a loved one are experiencing a life-threatening situation — such as chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe injuries, or other critical health concerns — please don’t hesitate to call us immediately. Your safety is our priority.

However, for everyday health concerns or issues that would typically require a general practitioner, we encourage you to explore alternative health care options ahead of the clinic’s closure. It’s crucial to establish a plan for routine care to ensure your ongoing health needs are met.

To continue delivering the high-quality emergency care our community depends on, we rely entirely on volunteers. As our area grows and health care needs evolve, we must expand our team. We’re calling on you — our neighbors and friends — to consider joining us.

We have opportunities for:

  • Dispatchers: The first point of contact for emergencies, ensuring help arrives swiftly.
  • Drivers: Skilled and calm behind the wheel, ensuring a smooth and safe ride.
  • Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs): Providing hands-on patient care and vital support.
  • Rescue providers: Assisting with specialized response needs in critical situations.

We provide training and support for all roles. Volunteering with us is a deeply rewarding way to give back to our community and make a meaningful impact.

Your Support

As we navigate the challenges ahead, your support is more vital than ever. Whether by volunteering, donating, or spreading the word about our services, every contribution helps us serve our community better.  If you’re interested in joining our team or learning more, contact us at 802-496-8888, or online  https://www.mrvas.org/volunteer.  Together, we can ensure our community remains safe and supported during emergencies.

Thank you for your trust and partnership.
