The town of Warren and its residents generously host The Valley’s annual Fourth of July parade, with this year’s being number 75 -- and what a diamond jubilee it was! A long and interesting parade of floats and marchers (thank you Senator Bernie Sanders and Representative Becca Balint) was capped off by a rousing street dance party hosted by George Dorsey on The Warren Store porch and featuring new party favorite, “Jewel House.” Local businesses and residents were generous in donations of Buddy Badge prizes and cash sponsorships.

WDEV Radio and MRV-TV broadcast live (you can watch on Youtube!), bringing the day to life for those who could not attend. The Valley Reporter and Seven Days gave the event great public relations coverage. A big thank you to the MRV Rotary Club for volunteer hands doing the day’s heavy lifting. This is my last official year as parade wrangler, with the spreadsheet and clipboard now handed off to fellow Rotarian Ben Olds, who is taking the lead for 2025. It’s been a great 17-year run and I look forward to actually watching the parade!
