To The Editor:
I urge Waitsfield voters to support Christine Sullivan and Jordan Gonda for Waitsfield Select Board on March 2.
Both Christine and Jordan are extremely smart, are raising families here, have committed themselves to public service and will treat constituents and neighbors with respect without regard to gender or status in the community.
Jordan is a highly-regarded attorney and Christine has extensive experience managing public budgets. They are fair, honest and not pompous or driven by personal agendas. They will position the board well to deal with the challenges facing The Valley, including climate change and recovery from the COVID pandemic.
I also appreciate Fred Messer’s long-standing service as health officer and emergency management coordinator. I’m disappointed his name is not on the ballot -- running a write-in campaign is difficult -- but I plan to vote for him because he provides a valuable historical perspective and will put science over ideology.
