To The Editor:
At 5 dark 30 on Saturday morning, December 5, a sliver of light was seen when a person turned their vehicle around near our house. They came back to tenderly lift a small injured owl from the middle of Route 100 to the safety of the tall grass off the side of the road. That action gave the owl its only chance of survival and we thank you.
She (the owl) is in rehabilitation at VINS and while she is still struggling, she is alive and we are hopeful that she will continue to improve so that she may once again soar the skies of The Valley and beyond.
This random act of kindness is an example of who we truly are as humans.
Thank you,
Jack and Kelly Wood
