To The Editor:
Climate change is real. We can’t deny it or wait any longer. I support David Zuckerman on many issues, but this in particular is most pressing. As a farmer he sees the changes happening first hand. He stands for a plan and regional action. Senate bill 185 is an act to adopt a climate change response plan with a regional commission. Senate bill 688, the Global Warming Solutions Act, mandates new emission reductions and citizen enforcement. Both bills passed in the Senate. Similar legislation has been enacted regionally.
Governor Scott has for years delayed, blocked and refused to work with legislators on the challenge of climate warming. Vermont has lost jobs in renewable energy because of his inaction. Will he veto these bills? The news media refuses to use the term "climate change." Denial is no longer an option. David Zuckerman will be a partner with Vermonters for a comprehensive solution.
