I’m writing in support of Brian Shupe’s candidacy for the Waitsfield Select Board. I’ve known and worked with Brian in a variety of capacities for over 20 years, both here in the Mad River Valley and on statewide environmental issues through our respective professional careers. He has the right mix of qualities to do an outstanding job as a member of the select board.
Brian is smart, insightful, forward-looking and deeply committed to our community. He does his homework and quickly gets to the core of complex topics. He treats people with respect, is willing to listen to diverse opinions and is skilled in dealing with complicated issues. With his long experience and deep expertise as one of Vermont’s leading planners, Brian understands the challenges and opportunities facing small, rural towns like ours and has the vision to help Waitsfield and The Valley move forward into a vibrant future.
