To The Editor:
Thank you for the article on April 18 about the Preserve Our Paradise Campaign at Mad River Glen. We do have one correction to pass along. The campaign recently surpassed $5 million in gifts and pledges; however, that is not the goal. We are currently seeking to raise $5.9 million to fully fund the capital needs of Mad River Glen including a renovation of the 1948 Basebox lodge, a rebuild of the Ski Patrol/Ski School building, and work on the Birdland lift.
Thanks to the support of hundreds of donors making gifts of all sizes, the Mad River Glen Cooperative, in partnership with the Stark Mountain Foundation, has already been able to complete many on-mountain projects that have made a major difference in our operations and skiing experience. Currently, the campaign has $225,000 in funds to match all contributions dollar for dollar through the end of April. Donations can be made at www.preservemadriver.com.
The outpouring of support from the Mad River community is remarkable and the fundraising continues!
