To The Editor:
As a longtime resident of the Mad River Valley, and president of the VT Inn & B&B Association, I had a front-row seat to Ed Read’s first year in the Legislature this past session. He was instrumental in the passage of the Short-Term Rentals bill that is of great importance to The Valley’s lodging properties. As an Independent, he was chosen to be on the Conference of Committees that negotiated the final details of the bill. He is respected because he puts Vermonters’ needs over party affiliations.
The tourism and lodging industry is paramount to the economic success of our area. Ed knows the importance and intricacies of this business and has already shown his willingness to fight and advocate on its behalf in Montpelier. I strongly endorse him for re-election as our state representative, not only for our Valley, but for all Vermonters.
