To The Editor:
Every house I have lived in for my entire life has had an American flag including my house in Waitsfield which was built in 1971. I had written to the select board and told them we would be glad to donate a made-in-the-USA flag, a proper flagpole and a mount at zero cost to the town. Of course, this was turned down in favor of exactly what we do not need, an all-night-lighted flag paid for by all the taxpayers.
We need a flag; we do not need a Broadway spectacular!
