To The Editor:

The Bridge Street wooden bridge exists for only one reason – as a link to our heritage that we honor by keeping it in good order and using it every day. It is living history and should be honored as a priceless antique. It now has been turned into a Disney reproduction with a roof that does not leak, that gets us across the river. The roof should have been rebuilt with wood and restored as close as possible to the day it opened. Why even have a reproduction and not a new metal and concrete easily maintained structure?
