To The Editor:
I would like to respond to Valerie Porter’s comments in her April 28 Valley Floor column. I have been using The Valley carwash since it opened and have never experienced the kinds of problems that Ms. Porter mentions. I have, on the other hand, had the dubious pleasure to be behind several folks who probably had something to do with carwash malfunctions and complaints: I have personally seen two drivers who misjudged the tracks, one of whom was sideways in the bay and had slammed into and damaged the right side wall. Then there was the sweet, elderly woman who put her money in but never selected a service and thus was sitting in the bay with nothing happening and fuming that this was the second time she had lost money there.
I should also mention that I have on occasion used the manual bays to clean window blinds because it was the best and quickest way to get all the dirt off – worked well.
Oh, and by the way, I have specific knowledge of several occasions in which people dumped their personal trash in the carwash dumpsters which costs money and time.

P.S. No, I don’t own the carwash nor did I stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, but I used to clean the office and was privy to many a consumer faux pas, more so than owner faux pas, and too many hours of the owner’s hard work to keep the place running. S.D.
