Thank you to Lisa Loomis and The Valley Reporter for the story about my recent heart bypass surgery. Hopefully, the knowledge of the subtle awareness of heart symptoms (or lack thereof) in women will help someone else avoid a potential heart attack. An important article in The Washington Post recently also illustrates how subtle a blocked artery and potential heart attack in women can be. This article explains how a woman woke up at night throwing up and only because her husband insisted on going to the ER did she survive a 100 percent blocked “widowmaker” artery.
