To The Editor:
This letter is addressed to Valley neighbors.
It hurts to write this letter to you, our loyal supporters of the outhouse fundraiser, but we have decided to cancel the contest for this year.
The weather just wouldn’t cooperate and the number of warm spells has kept us in a state of suspended animation, unable to safely get the outhouse on the pond.
While the weather is turning colder, predictions are that there is another warm front following. As much as we wanted to provide this fun money raiser, safety was our prime concern and that seemed doubtful.
Thank you for your past support and we look forward to colder (and snowier) weather in the winter of 2017.
