To The Editor:
Hi, I am Robin, the photographer by the Waitsfield covered bridge from 1979 to 2008.
Having had the privilege to be at that spot where the pocket park will be, I know how wonderful it is. I am thrilled that the town bought it and now it will be a place everyone can enjoy. There is something awesome about how the water is coming right at you. Sitting there in all kinds of weather is amazing. Believe me, having that be public space is a good thing.
People are going to love being able to be there. The sketches of the vision for the space that I saw at the town office are great. Three or four groupings of people will be able to sit comfortably there at the same time. Due to the frequent flooding, concrete is a good thing. In time, Vermont sand and green will do its thing.
A lot of people have put in a lot of effort to create something nice.
Let's be grateful. This will likely be everyone’s favorite spot in our most amazingly beautiful place.
